Estimated Raw Milk Production in Saudi Arabia (2003)
The Kingdom’s overall dairy production witnessed a 9% growth between 1996 and 1997. Saudi ’s raw milk production increased from a yearly average of 2,040 tons in 1974-76, to 510,000 tons in 1997 and 816,000 tons in 1998. This spectacular growth has allowed the Kingdom to reach self-sufficiency in raw milk production. In 2003, the raw milk production was 858,000 tons.
